♥ Happy New Year ♥ Day 35 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 35.
The past two days has felt as though I am eliminating something. My body fat is still reducing (it was 10% when I measured it today). So I feel that it could be some stored toxins that are being released as my body fat is released.
I marvel at how wise the body is in storing anything harmful away from the vital organs, and in the place that the body deems least harmful.
I often get asked, 'What could you possibly have left to eliminate', when people see that I am on a mono juice diet.
I reason that my body had 24 years of eating cooked foods, 14 years of taking allopathic medicines, X-rays when I was in utero and as a child (I had a heart murmer), 20 years of eating dairy, and no years of taking breast milk.
Also I am not an island, I live in a world of farmers who spray their crops, of cars and vehicles which emit exhaust pollutants, of household chemicals and personal deoderants (I only use natural house cleaners but come into contact with other households), of people who spray weedkillers on the paths where I walk, and a whole host of other environmental toxins to which I am daily exposed.
As I say, I am not an island and unless I go and live on one in the middle of the Pacific Ocean then I will still be absorbing a certain amount of toxins daily.
Another factor is that I have never taken a fast or mono diet to completion.
By this I mean to the point where the tongue is perfectly clean.
I feel that I came close in 1995 with my 52 day Orange juice diet. But I have always broken the diet ot fast before this point.
Maybe it is the deepest stored toxins that are the last to come out.
Having said this I still have lots of energy and feel good.
I generally wake between 4am and 5am and am ready to jump out of bed (and start typing my diary from the day before!) My exercises are easier to do than 'normal' and I sleep the best and the most soundly, but need less sleep than usual.

So I am not sure how long I will carry on. I feel like I would like to reach the 40 day mark. The Mangoes on our trees are getting perfectly ripe now, so I feel that they would make a great juice-breaker ♥
Also Queensland Rambutans are coming in, so they are one of my favourites and fresh jammy Figs will soon be in season. So I will have a wealth to choose from when I finish the mono-diet.

♥ Day 34 Mono Orange Juice ♥

Day 34.
In the morning I was sitting in the morning sunshine, having finished my morning workout, and enjoying feeling the sun as I juiced my Oranges.
We have a large nest of Southern Meat Ants who have made a mosaic covered nest near our mail box.
Despite being called Meat Ants, as you can see they also love the odd bit of Watermelon.

The funny thing is that they often latch on to the very end of my toes; they do not really bother with any other part of my body. Meat Ants do not have a poisonous sting, but they can give quite a nip with their pincers.

So there I was this morning with the Meat Ants noseying around the tops of my toes, and I felt very honoured to have these tiny creatures on my toes, as I sat juicing. It just felt so nice.

I am really appreciating music at the moment, I am loving having a dance to old 60's and 70's tunes, especially DISCO ♥

We went to Maleny today on the look out for Organic or Biodynamic Oranges, and found some nice ones.Maleny has a lovely energy about it, very friendly and laid back, and surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We had a look in a lovely shop that sold handmade wooden items and furniture.

They had the wildest four-poster bed made out of branches with yards of white gauzy material wrapped around the branches, it looked like the bed for a woodland Fairy Queen. There were also some pretty groovy hand-made woodern fruit bowls and tiny jewellery boxes with wee pull-out drawers made out of purple wood.

So if you have AU $5,000 to spare for an amazing bed or a more modest AU$150 diollars for a fruit bowl check out http://www.davidlinton.com.au/index.php
Me, I spent my money on Oranges ♥

The organic delivery still has not shown up, so I think they may be closed until after the New Year . I wandered around to their base, they are also in Maleny, but there was no sign of any activity, and the place looked very much in Holiday Mode.

I am very keen to try the local organic Valencias, as most of the Valencias come from Victoria at this time of year.

I measured my muscle mass today, and it is still about the same as when I started, so I am glad not to be losing muscle, only fat.

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning—500ml/16.9oz of conventional Orange juice, fresh squeezed and strained.

Day 33 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 33 ♥

I am continuing to feel good on the juice, sleep is just wonderful, energy levels are good, flexibility is improved, lung capacity seems greater.
I noticed today though that the smell of other fruits was starting to attract me; I cut up some Apricots for Cappi and they smelt very good to me.
I do not think I have taken the Orange juice to conclusion though, but I am feeling that to take it to conclusion I would prefer being away from 'civilization', My weight, I feel, is quite acceptable now, but it can be challenging being at a lower weight among folk who do not understand what is going on.
If I was starting to feel weak or malnourished (which I am not) I would stop the diet. However, it is another matter to stop it because of other people's opinions, which happened with my extended juice diet in 1995.

For the moment I shall continue, because the juice I am having tastes like nectar and I adore it and it makes me feel very joyous, and energetic and free.

Today I hand juiced and then strained the juice. Because the Oranges are not as ripe as I feel they could be, I think that it may be better for my teeth to hand-juice and then strain the juice and drink from a glass.
It was interesting because doing that I actually measured how much juice I was consuming for the first time.

Fruity Fare ♥
Morning—375ml/12.7oz
Late Morning—250ml/8.5oz
Afternoon—375ml/12.7oz

I was using the same amount of Oranges that I usually do when I have three lots of juice per day, and more than when I have two lots of juice. My Oranges have been little ones.

Did you know? On average produce travels 1500 miles to get from farm to table! YIKES! That is a long way. Depending on where you live will determine what is fresh when. Click here for a great tool created by Whole Foods and GOOD.

Day 32 Mono Orange Juice ♥

Day 32.
What I have been noticing is that my lungs also seem 'freer' somehow, like my lung capacity is better, and I can get more air in when I breathe.
We went to the beach yesterday and it was a real pleasure to breathe in all that lovely fresh briney air.
We also went to see some people who have three two week old baby deer. The baby deer are being bottle-fed and were so tame that we could stroke them, they were so beautiful ♥

I am losing a bit more weight now, but I have only really lost fat, my muscle mass remains around the same as when I started, about 39kg/86lbs, it is just my fat percentage which has lowered. I am pleased about this as I do not really want to lose any muscle.

I am still waiting on my Orange Delivery, I am also waiting for a book I ordered from E-bay which is called, 'The Orange: Golden Joy'.

It is all about the history and uses of the Orange. I love the title!
I am finding it easy to do my usual exercise regime and I have plenty of physical energy ♥
I had a dream last night that I had forgotton I was on Orange Juice and I had eaten some Cantaloupe Melon and an Avocado. In the dream I really hoped I had not eaten these fruits because I still really wanted to still be on Oranges, but I could see the Cantaloupe skin and the Avocado skin so I knew that I had eaten them. In my dream I kept thinking 'How could I have broken it on Day 31, now I will have to start again!'. So maybe that is a sign from my subconscious to carry on with the Orange juice!

Day 31

Day 31, and the rains continue, interspersed with beautiful Sunshine. So everything is just growing and growing in the garden.
The humid, balmy climate feels perfect with my Orange juice diet.
In the past most of my Orange juice diets have been done in Winter because Oranges are really a Winter crop. I do find however, that the warmer temperatures really go well with the Orange juice diet.
I am still waiting  (excitedly) for my delivery of Oranges. Because it is holiday time they may be delayed, so I may have to go on an Orange hunt tomorrow when most of the fruit shops reopen.
I have not been doing so much day-to-day searching simply because I had found a great source of Biodynamic Valencias that I could get in bulk.
Not having to think about what I am going to eat coupled with not having to go look for it has really freed up a lot of my time and energy, both physical and mental.
It is great to go looking for fruit, I love it! But it is also nice to take a rest from that for a bit too.
My energy has been great the last couple of days, and I am still enjoying my Orange juice.
My sleep continues to be great, I find that I need 6 or 7 hours to feel refreshed and well-rested.

Day 30 Mono Orange Juice

Day 30 ♥
Today I found a new supplier of Organic Oranges, including local Valencias.
The last lot of Biodynamic Oranges I did not find ripe enough for me, so I looked for an alternative source.
I would much rather support Organic farmers and put the juice from Organic Oranges in my body.
I think that many commercially grown fruits lack that special something because they are grown in almost 'factory farm' conditions.
They do not seem to have the care given to them that local or Biodynamic or Organic fruits do.
I appreciate that the grower needs to make a living but when profit is put before everything else then I believe that that something is lost and the quality and vitality of the fruit suffers.
If I am to live off Oranges, then I neeed the most vital ones I can find.

I am feeling very limber and fluid in my joints. My body feels very 'free' and light.
I am still really enjoying my time on Orange juice, but the last couple of days have been more of a challenge because the Oranges have not been so ripe.
When one juices each Orange individually in the mouth then each one needs to taste good and ripe. I am  amazed at the range in flavours that occurs between different Oranges, and I feel that I am able to really appreciate this when I juice each fruit individually.

Day 29 Mono Orange Juice ♥

Day 29.
Christmas Day ♥
We had a lovely day, Cappi was very excited. There was lots of lovely fruit in the house, and the smell of Peaches continues to delight me, but in much the same way as the smell of a beautiful Rose captivates me; I can appreciate the smell but do not necesssarily want to eat it.

I think this is the first year that I have had Orange juice for Christmas dinner. And it was very enjoyable.
The weather was wonderful—beautiful sunshine, and also lovely rain. So the baby trees got a nice Christmas present of perfect growing weather.
I got some lovely drawing pencils from Camlo, and some natural perfume from Cappi. So now I can smell like Patchouli, Orange, and Elemi whilst I do my artwork ♥

I hope everyone had a very happy and peaceful Christmas ♥

Merry Christmas ♥ Day 28 ♥ Season's Greetings

Four weeks of Orange juice, and Festive Greetings to all ♥
Wishing everyone Peace and Goodwill ♥

Still enjoying the beautiful nectar, and it has been giving me the necessary energy to do all that I need to do.
I actually find it easier to do my morning workouts.
I have started to lose a bit more weight now.
I am (after 4 weeks) about 2kg (4.4lbs) lower than my 'normal' weight.

I was buying fruit for Christmas dinner, and I found the smelll of the Peaches very appealing, but I could enjoy the smell without wanting to eat one, but out of all the fruit smells that I have smelt since starting the Orange Juice, the Peaches were the most appealing.

I felt as though I was eliminating a bit in the morning, my tongue was coated and I felt a bit more like being still, whereas normally I feel active in the morning.
It passed quickly though and my energy was good for the rest of the day.
The last lot of Biodynamic Oranges were not so ripe, after being simply excellent, so I am hoping that the next lot are back to the previous ripeness. I did buy some unorganic Oranges at the Farmers' Market yesterday which just looked good, and they were really nice and flavoursome and sweet.

Fruity Fare ♥:
Morning—3, Organic Oranges, juiced in the mouth,

Day 27 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 27.
I spent the day in Brisbane, having a lovely morning with some visiting fruit lovers.
We went to a farmer' market in the heart of town, and the first stall past the door was An Orange Juice Stall!!!!.
Great Orange synchronicity, they had a cool squeezy-type Orange juicer, where the Oranges go in in a line down a chute, and then get pressed; and the juice was delightful.
Cappi was kindly gifted some beautiful Musang King Durian by our friend (Cappi now calls him his best friend!) and although I knew it was a tip top Durian by its smell and colour and appearance, I did not desire to eat it. It smelt divine, and the smell was beautiful to me; maybe that was all I needed from Durian at this time.
I do feel that I would like to take this Orange diet to completion. My longest mono Orange juice diet was broken not because I felt unwell or tired of Oranges, or was tempted by another fruit. It was broken, and I feel prematurely, because friends and family felt that I was losing too much weight.
I felt really strong and well, but I appreciate that those concerned were acting in my interests and were concerned that I may be harming myself.
So, it will be interesting to see what will be the reasons that I finish this Orange juice diet, and whether I feel I have taken it as far as I needed to.
In the evening we had a twilight market stall, just out of Brisbane, it was a lovely market with some great live music. We also got some great live tunes at the farmers' market; Cappi danced so much and had a great double D day—Durian and Dancing!

Day 26 Mono Orange Juice

Day 26.
The computer had its operation to replace its fried bits and pieces, plus it was connected to a fancy surgeboard to try to stop a repeat incidence.
Being in the Sub-tropics, we get a lot of storms in the Summer, and have been getting quite a few lightening hits very close by. The rain has been wonderful for the baby fruit trees, many of whom are growing new leaves. The combination of sun, heat, and rain is just what they need to thrive.
Meanwhile, I am thankful to be thriving on Orange juice, sunshine, some water and exercise, plus the best night's sleep.

Day 25 Mono Orange Juice

Day 25
I awoke this morning with plenty of energy, despite only having one meal of juice yesterday. I can see more and more that it is not just the amount of food or calories that determines energy but that other factors are important, such as the state of our intestines and our rate of assimilation and absorbtion. Also, I do feel that to some extent we can get energies from the air and sunlight and positive emotions such as love.

I have now switched to organic Oranges because at the moment they are the sweetest-tasting to me.
They burst with honeyed nectar into my mouth; I am enjoying juicing each one in my mouth as I really get to taste the individual flavour of each piece of fruit. Each Orange is unique!
I am still not attracted to any other fruit; this is very much how it was on my first long Orange juice diet back in 1995, I broke the diet due to concerns of family and friends but had no personal desire for any other fruit. And indeed the fruit that I broke my diet on tasted like ashes in my mouth after my beloved Oranges.

Day 24 Mono Orange juice ♥

Day 24,
We got big storms today, and so the computer was not happy, I was just a  bit late in rushing to unplug the computer, as the thunder started to crash about, with the result that the modem connection port was damaged. So until it is mended, hopefully soon, then my computer time is limited.
It was a good day because we got a visit from some other fruit lovers and had a big share of fruit (except me) But I am still very happy with my juice, and was not tempted by the Jackfruit, Japoticaba, Passionfruit and other lovely fruits on offer.
I am finding that I have a lot more 'thinking' time, because my daily fruit consumption takes up so little of my time.
I juice usually twice a day, although today, it was just once.
I have a good stock of Oranges, so food becomes less of a factor in my day-to-day life.
I just finished reading Dr. Frank McCoy's book, 'The Fast Way To Health'. It was just a great time to be reading it, and the cases he mentions gives me even greater faith in the amazing capacity of the human body to heal if it is given the appropriate conditions.

Day 23 Mono Orange Juice

Day 23.
I am still relishing both the Orange juice and reaing Dr. Frank McCoy's accounts of helping people to heal using Orange juice.
We may not agree on all aspects of diet and healing, but this man had some wonderful successes in helping many folk to heal and re-balance.
many of them had been declared 'untreatable' by the so-called experts of the day. One young man of 24 was told by United States Government doctors that he had just 3 months left to live, after he was diagnosed with thyroid issues, an aneurism of the thoracic aorta and valvular leakage fronm the heart.
He was immediately put on a 30 day Orange juice diet, and two years later when McCoy was writing his book, the young man was still very much alive and well.

I finished clearing the grass from between the baby trees today and discovered several tiny Strawberry plants under all the grass, and also a tiny baby Star Apple and a tiny, just sprouting canistel.

Sleep and dreams are just great.
Energy is good too ♥

Day 22 Mono Orange Juice

Day 22, and I am still having a good ride on the Orange juice train.
It has been very hot here in South East Queensland, but the heat has fitted in well with my juice diet, and I have relished the heat and not needed even a fan on. Also I have been sleeping well in the sultry nights.

I have just bought a couple of old booklets, on the internet, by the Californian Fruit Growers Exchange (later to become 'Sunkist'). These Booklets were originally available by post free from the Exchange in the 1920's and 1930's.
One is about eating more fruit and less fat, and also about what acidosis really is, and how even though the citrus fruits are ph acidic, they have an alkaline effect upon the body.
The second pamphlet is about a study done in the 1930's that showed children who had a daily glass of citrus juice added to their diet had  greatly improved tooth and gum health.
I have seen this study mentioned earlier in another Exchange booklet, but this booklet is soley about the study and goes into it in further detail.
I am interested to see how the Orange juice given, really improved the dental health of the children.
The publication is called 'World's New Dental Story New Facts About Teeth and Gums and Diet'.

There seems to be so much information out there saying that fruit is not great for teeth and that citrus especially can damage teeth, that it is wonderful to see a study showing the opposite.
I  do appreciate however that unripe fruit, especially citrus can create issues with dental enamel.

Day 21 Mono Orange Juice.

Three weeks on Orange Juice, and I have no desire to stop, nor am I tempted by any other fruit at the moment.
It is almost that the longer I go on Orange juice, then the easier it becomes.
I see Orange juice as my food.
One thing is that it simplifies life so much; there is no thinking about what I am going to eat.
Also I do not focus on diet so much, so there becomes more time for other things.
Today was very active for me, much of it in the hot sun, which at this time in Australia is just about the strongest it gets because we are closest to the sun on 21st of December.
I find that as long as I listen to my body and I am respectful of the mighty sun, then I do not burn.
I feel that listening to your body on how much sun it needs, plus the protective 'natural sunscreen' that a fruit diet provides means that the sun is my friend and never harmful to me.

I am still relishing Dr. Frank McCoy's book, it is amazing that a doctor sucessfully trated so many patients using an Orange Juice Cure.
McCoy also used other fasting and dietary measures, but an Orange juice diet was one of his most common treatments.

I managed to get hold of another three bags of Biodynamic Oranges, so tomorrow I will start on them again.

Day 20 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 20.
I have been really enjoying reading Dr. Frank McCoy's book.
I will quote a case study:

" Case 26. male 65 years of age. This patient was a retired physician who had been totally deaf for about 10 years. He came to me in the hope that I might be able to give him a diet which would relieve the catarrhal condition in his head and throat which had existed all his life. He remembered having catarrh as a boy, and was never entirely free from it at any time, but in spite of all the treatments he took in his endeavors to overcome the trouble, it gradually increased through the years, so that when he presented himself to me for treatment he was using several handkerchiefs daily. He gradually became deaf during the years of his practice, and the last few years had been spent as a specialist on a certain branch of medical science where acute hearing was not essential. After becoming totally deaf he found it hard to continue his practice at all and consequently retired from it altogether.
I explained the benefit of the fasting cure for his catarrhal condition, and suggested that his hearing might be regained. Of course he did not believe this, after eminent specialists had failed to help him.
He started on an orange juice fast to rid his system of catarrh. during the fast he used only the juice of 6 oranges daily, one taken every two hours with a plentiful supply of water.
The fast was continued for 25 days. After the tenth day certain loud noises could be heard. His hearing continued to improve, and on the eighteenth day of the fast he passed the test used for railway trainmen, and could hear a watch tick 18 inches from either ear...
The cure was completed several years ago and from time to time I have heard from the doctor, who has resumed practice, and has had no return of catarhal symptoms or deafness."

Over the last few days I have been eliminated some clear mucus in the morning.
My energy is generally very good, although there was a point today where I wanted to rest for a an hour in the afternoon.

My sleep is so wonderful and rested and my dreams are very vivid.

Day 19 Mono Orange Juice

Day 19.
The Biodynamic Oranges have finished for the moment, but there are plenty of great Organic ones at the local wholefood store for just $2 per kilo (2.2lbs). They seem low in acidity, nicely tree-ripened and with a good flavour.
This Orange juice diet, I have juiced the vast majority of my Oranges in my mouth.
The advantages to this are that I get to taste the individual flavour of each Orange, plus it is a nice slow way to savour the juice.
The disadvantage is that the Orange juice is in quite a bit of contact with my front teeth.
The Oranges I have been using are nice and ripe and I rinse my mouth with water afterward, and I floss my teeth—so I feeel that these factors will help to ensure a lack of damage to tooth enamel.

Fruity fare:
Morning—the juice of 12 Biodynamic Valencias (the last ones!)Juiced in my mouth
Afternoon—the juice of 10 Organic Valencias, juiced in my mouth.

The Organic Valencias, are also pretty small, but a wee bit bigger than the Biodynamic ones. Therefore, during this Orange juice diet, I am not taking more juice than usual, but using more Oranges because they are smaller.

Exercise:
40 minutes fast walking.

Day 18 Mono Orange Juice

Day 18.
I have been enjoying a book from the 1920's called 'The Fast Way To Health' by Dr. Frank McCoy.
I bought it some time ago from Amazon, the edition was printed in 1926 and had a price cover of US $3, quite a lot of money back in 1926. 80 years later I too paid $3 for it from a second-hand bookseller. Funny how things work out.
Anyhow, McCoy helped many people to regain and rebalance their health using water fasting, fruit diets, and in many cases an exclusive Orange juice diet.
So it is wonderful whilst on an Orange juice diet myself to read his case histories of treating anything from catarrh to deafness to anemia using an Orange juice diet.
I have read his work before, but it is especially relevant for me to read his words whilst being on an Orange juice diet.

I am really enjoying my exercise and walking, because I feel such a nice fluidity in my joints which makes exercise even more of a pleasure.
I am now down to the last of my Biodynamic Beauties, so I will be having Organic Oranges in the next few days unless a new supply of Biodynamic Valencias arrives.

Afternoon—the juice of 6 Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in mouth.

Day 17 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 17 and all's well.
I felt a need for more juice today, so I had an extra meal of juice.
For the most part I have been happy with two main juice meals, but a third one went down well today.
I am finding the smell of other fruit attractive, but I have no real desire at the moment to eat it.
Cappi, my younger boy, was eating an Heirloom Tomato today, and I loved the smell but did not want to eat one.
I had a mix of organic and biodynamic Valencias today.
I prefer the biodynamic overall, but it was also good to taste the difference of the organic fruit.

There are many, many Mangoes falling from our big tree, and I hope to try some...but just not at the moment. Also we have been getting Purple Panama Passionfruit from our vine, which I would like to try before their season ends, but just not ready yet to finish on the Orange juice.

My energy is still good, and I am finding that my usual workout flows better than normal. I am also having no issues at all with the summer heat which can reach up to 36 degrees Centigrade or 97 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fruity fare:
Morning—4 Organic Valencias, and 7 Biodynamic Valencias, all juiced in mouth.

Midday—12 Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in mouth.

Afternoon— 6 Organic and 6 Biodynamic Valencias, all juiced in Mouth.

Exercise:
30 minute walking
40 minute workout.

Day 16 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 16, and still on Planet Valencia.
I have been feeling good and my energy levels are also good.
We got some more rain, which was marvellous after the very dry, hot weather of late. The garden has freshened up and the baby fruit trees are happy.

I am getting some coating on my tongue, so I believe that I am still elimination. But I wake in the morning between 4am–4.30am feeling ready to get up and go! And I am pretty active or working for most of the day, and do not feel a need for rest during the day.

The Biodynamic Valencias, are being replaced by Organic ones at the whole food store, so I may be on Organic Oranges instead.
The Organic ones are still very good quality and sweet, but just not quite as vibrant somehow as their Biodynamic cousins.

Fruity Fare:
Morning—10 Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in mouth.
Afternoon–10 Biodymamic Valencias, juiced in mouth.

Exercise:
40 minute fast walk
20 minute workout.

My sleep is still so good and restful and exciting dreams too.

Wishing you Beautiful days ♥

Day 15 Mono Orange Juice.

Day 15, and after the heat came the rains, and everything smelt fresh and alive.

I felt like I was eliminating a bit today. I had lots of energy, but a slight taste in my mouth, almost metallic.
Sleep is still excellent and very enjoyable. I am getting 6–7 hours a night, which seems to be working for me. I am getting up, usually, betwen 4am and 4.30 am feeling rested and ready to go ♥

Fruity Fare:
Morning — 12 small Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in mouth.

Afternoon— 11 small Biodynamic Valencias, juiced in mouth

Evening—the juice of half a Biodynamic Valencia, squeezed into a glass of Italian mineral water.

Exercise:
1 hour fast walking
30 mins workout.
