Watermelon Smoothie Recipes


Strawberry & Watermelon Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients (serves 3-4)

1 watermelon (seedless)
14 juicy strawberries
mint leaves (if desired)

Method

Chop the watermelon into small bite sized chunks, hull strawberries. Then add all ingredients into your blender and whiz away for around 30 seconds on a high setting. Leave to chill for 30 minutes in the fridge or simply serve and enjoy.

Morning Blast Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients (serves 3-4)

1/2 watermelon (chopped into cubes)
14 raspberries
1 cupful (approx) apple juice for the base liquid
squeeze of fresh lemon
pinch of salt (if desired)

Method

Stick all the ingredients; chopped watermelon, raspberries, apple juice, squeeze of lemon into the smoothie maker and blast on full power for around 30-40 seconds, when finished add a pinch of salt. Serve chilled. If this is for children then leave out the salt.

Breakfast Fruits Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients (serves 1)

1 large slice melon (cantaloupe, cubed)
2 oz fresh raspberries
5 fl oz unsweetened cranberry juice
2 tbsps natural yoghurt

Method

To make this quick fruit smoothie recipe, add the cubed melon to the blender, followed by the raspberries, then the cranberry juice and finally the natural yoghurt. Blend on full power for around 30 seconds until mixed well. Serve in a tall glass and enjoy. This quick free smoothie recipe is good if you are in a rush at breakfast time.

Watermelon Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients (serves 2)

2 cups seeded watermelon chunks
1 cup cracked ice
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. almond extract

Method

This is an official 5 A Day recipe. Stick all the ingredients in a blender container, blend until smooth. Pour in a tall glass and consume at will.

Berry & Watermelon Smoothie

Ingredients (serves 4)

1/4 watermelon
125 g frozen mixed berries or fresh mixed berries
1-2 bananas
1/4-1/2 cup milk (soy or rice milk works too, Can use any juice as substitute) (optional)
ice (optional)
cinnamon
honey

Method

Blend the watermelon into juice. Add bananas (used mainly to thicken). Throw in all the other ingredients, according to taste. Can be poured over ice cubes if desired.
